NEW DELHI, March 28 - India’s veteran spinner Anil Kumble has taken retirement from one-day cricket after India’s early World Cup exit but will continue playing Test matches, media reports said today.
Kumble, most successful bowler of India, announced his retirement to team-mates in Port of Spain, the reports said.
The leg-spinner has a great record of 547 wickets in 113 Tests and 337 wickets in 271 one-dayers and that’s the most by any Indian bowler.
The 36-year-old had already announced the World Cup would be his last one-day series before the team departed for the Caribbean in February.
